Recruiting Chinese Music Instrument Players
Hi,

My name is Lee Siang Ing, a third year medical student from Malaysia in Birmingham University.

I play the erhu in my high school and missed playing in an orchestra. There is currently no chinese orchestra in Birmingham Uni. Hence I would like to start a small ensemble. However I have yet to meet anyone who plays chinese music.

Could I possibly ask the help of your society to recruit any members of chisoc or any chinese student who plays a traditional chinese instrument? I would really appreciate your help if you could forward facebook message or email your members on the mailing list to spread the words. If possible, would you mind sending the message again when term starts as I am afraid that most people do not check their email during holidays. But I reckon facebook is a good way to spread the words even during holidays.

The proposed 华乐团Chinese Orchestra will have small group playing sessions, we could perform during chinese new year, or even perform for the chinese orchestra in cambridge as guest performers.

Please contact me for more details.

Yours sincerely,
Siang Ing Lee

Malaysian students - graduate barometer

FOR THE ATTENTION OF MALAYSIAN FINAL YEAR STUDENTS

I would be grateful if you could take 10 minutes to fill in the survey on the link below about your graduate career from GTI, there are prizes to be won!

GTI publishes over 100 market-leading careers products from offices in eight countries in our mission to help students and graduates throughout the world make informed and successful decisions about their future.

The Malaysian Student and Graduate Barometer 2009 is a survey conducted by trendence, an employer branding research company that is part of Group GTI, through www.gradmalaysia.com . The Malaysian Student and Graduate Barometer 2009 is a survey that measures students’ perception of potential employers and career possibilities in Malaysia and abroad. The outcome of the survey will also decide the ranking of Malaysia’s 100 leading graduate employers 2009 and help to choose the winners of Malaysia’s 100 leading graduate employers Awards 2009.

The survey will expose respondents to leading graduate employers in Malaysia (this information would be most helpful to students and graduates who plan to return to Malaysia to work), and help clarify their thoughts about what is important to them in their first job.

This survey is open to Malaysian students in their penultimate and final year of university study, and graduates who graduated within the last 12 months. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete the survey and those who take part stand the chance of winning cash prizes totalling RM5,000.

Call 0800, 0808 & 0500 Numbers For Less From Your Mobile
Most mobile phone providers in the UK still charge their users for calls to 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers. 0800Buster lets you call these numbers using your mobiles inclusive minutes, by providing you with a UK landline number to dial instead.

No registration or set-up is necessary, and the service is completely free*. Just dial 01229 33 0800, enter the full free-phone number you want to call at the prompt, then press ''#' its that simple!

Instructions

1. Dial 01229 33 0800
2. Enter the 0800, 0808, or 0500 number you want to phone
3. Press # to start the call

A word of warning about the content of the site. Their prices from mobile companies do not show the forthcoming or recent increases/changes - and while they describe their own prices as free - obviously you are still paying for your contract or minutes.

Another option that many will know - but requiring you to look up the number first - but also covering 0870 0845 0345 0844 0871... is
